Iam starting this compilation withfrom JMTim & Foty, who were a duo from Cameroon (playing together from1977 to 1982). 'Douala by Night' can be found on their. Withits discobeat and funky guitar riff, the songwas an instant hit. ' Some25 years later, Jean Marie Tiam aka Tim was in the studio in Parisworking on a solo album (The duo had disbanded in 1982 but Tim hadcontinued on a solo career) on which he planned to include a remakeof 'Doualaby Night'.Tim was shocked when the studio musicians informed him that the songwas not his and that it belonged to American Hip Hop artist MissyElliott who had released the song under the title in her Timberland-produced 2002 album 'SoAddictive'. (.) Tim filed alawsuit against Moses Timberland in 2007 and on January 15, 2010, anout of court settlement was reached between the two, with Timentitled to royalties beginning from 2009, along with a smallmonetary compensation. Tim says he was not really interested in themoney and simply wanted to 'restore the historical truth and letintellectual honesty and intellectual property triumph.' Personally, I am a bigger fan of the original version, but I thinksome people, especially those who are feeling 'the boogie',will enjoy this discofied version with its long drum break + someslappin' synth bass! Get a tasty reissue of the orginal 12inch! After a full dose ofAfrican & Tropikal Disco - I am ending this compilation withtrack #15:. This is the Italo Discoversion ofthe great funky track from 1975. With theheavy bass line and the cool percussions, this track brings in thebest from both worlds.

Yeah, just after posting this post I found out that 'Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki - Aieaoa' - the youtube link you shared with us is actually the original version of this great song. I have even heard that version before - but somehow forgot about it - or just always thought that the 'Black Blood' version was the original. Can't believe that 'Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki' was actually released in 1971.

That's a long time ago.:)Read here for more info:http://www.aquariumdrunkard.com/2012/09/13/the-yamasuki-singers-le-monde-fabuleux-des-yamasuki/.
